With over two decades of radio experience, including multiple Senior Radio Executive roles for leading radio and TV brands in both Australia and New Zealand, Ryan Rathbone brings with him a wealth of knowledge.
Starting his radio career on-air in regional Australia, Ryan landed his first Content Director role in the year 2000 at the age of 18. He became the youngest metropolitan Content Director in Australia, programming Nova 106.9 in Brisbane to be continuously #1 both in target All People 18 – 39 and All People 25 - 54, a total of 27 surveys in a row.
He went on to program in Sydney, Australia’s largest market, for both The Australian Radio Network and Southern Cross Austereo, before relocating to New Zealand in 2015 where he was the Content Director for the country's largest entertainment brand, The Edge. In 2020 Ryan returned to Australia and now holds the role of Group Content Director for Grant Broadcasters, overseeing 50+ stations across Australia.
During his career, Ryan has been responsible for casting and developing Nova Entertainments first national #1 Drive Show “Meshel, Tim and Marty” and has vast experience coaching winning talent including Dom Harvey, Tim Ross, Sharyn Casey, Kent Small, Sophie Monk, Merrick Watts, Dan Antsy, Yumi Stynes, Jono Pryor, Jules Lund, Simon Baggs and many more. He has been recognised by Commercial Radio Australia and The New Zealand Radio Awards as a finalist multiple times and has won Content Director of the Year. He has also won various awards for client/station promotions and marketing.
